LANCASHIRE SCHOOLS CRICKET ASSOCIATION (LSCA)

 

LSCA has a responsibility with regard to the County Age Group teams from Primary level up to Under 15, Inter-district & Inter-School Competitions. This work is controlled via an Executive Committee which is elected on an annual basis, and which meets on normally four or five occasions a year. The officers of LSCA control the regular day-to-day activities with the main focus on the Hon. Secretary, John Heaton.

The Association is affiliated to the ENGLISH SCHOOLS CRICKET ASSOCIATION who along with the ECB organise National Competitions at various age-groups as well as select National Age Group teams.

 

In 2007 LSCA will have County Age Group Teams at PRIMARY, UNDER 12, UNDER 13, UNDER 14 and UNDER 15 levels. The UNDER 13, 14 & 15 teams play in National Competitions under the control of the ECB. Details of the progress of all these teams can be found in the EXCELLENCE section of the LCB Website.

 

In addition DISTRICT COMPETITIONS are organised through LSCA. These are :-

  • UNDER 15 AINSWORTH TROPHY and UNDER 13 HACKING CUP
  • Finals Day for these will be at OLD TRAFFORD on Wednesday day September 5th.
  • LSCA also organise MERIT COMPETITIONS at UNDER 11, UNDER 13 AND UNDER 15.

At INTER-SCHOOL level we have: -

  • UNDER 12 DAVID ENGLISH BUNBURY COMPETITION
  • UNDER 13 JOHN HEATON MEMORIAL TROPHY
  • UNDER 14 HAROLD BAILEY COMPETITION
  • UNDER 15 ESCA 20/20 INTER-SCHOOL TROPHY
  • UNDER 17 INTER-SCHOOL COMPETITION

This section of the LCB Website will concentrate on these competitions with regular updates of progress in all the Inter-School Competitions.
